Jack went to be with his Savior on Wednesday morning about 9:00 am. We are planning a Celebration of Life service for Jack on Saturday, November 14 at 11:00 am at Valley Grace. A fellowship meal is to follow. If you have a memory of Jack you are encouraged to leave it in the comments section.
Note: if you are planning to come to the service, it would really be helpful if you would park in the "lower lot."

Jack you were a spiritual Pillar to follow. We had some great and interesting conversations over the years. When I was done shedding a tear, a feeling of rejoice came to me, knowing you are with our Savior and someday we will see each other again. You will be missed but not forgotten.

People don't really know how much the simplest acts matter. Jack and Dee have always been welcoming to us whenever we have seen them. It will be so strange not to see Jack counting attendees or handing out bulletins on Sunday morning. It was a small act of service but one that just became a fixture of our Sunday.
There are certain people that I have come across in my life that make you feel comfortable and safe from the very start - Jack was one of those people. I was blessed to be greeted each Sunday morning by Jack and Dee and I hope they both knew what a blessing it was for me. I looked forward to that moment with them, a moment that felt like it was a blessing sent by God just for me. I was reminded each time they greeted me of their commitment to serve God, and their commitment to each other. I understood that we were brothers and sisters in Christ and I felt that we were family almost from the first time they greeted me. Jack and I hugged one of the last times I saw him and even though I barely knew Jack beyond our Sunday morning moment, we felt like family and I will miss him deeply. My heart goes out to Dee, a sweeter, gentler, kinder woman I don't know if I have ever met. May you feel God's loving presence at this time and may you know the comfort of our Savior Jesus Christ.

Colt could never tie his tie so he would come to church with his necktie in his hands and Jack would tie it for him. After about 4 or 5 weeks Jack came to Colt and gave him about 6 clip on ties. We still have them!
